Planned Yuba County Casino Adds One More To Crowded Competition YUBA COUNTY (CBS13) — A big-name group making waves in Yuba County as residents prepare for a multimillion-dollar project to go up. A Hard Rock Casino hotel is being built on Forty Mile Road, just north of the Toyota Amphitheatre between highways 70 and 65. Openings in other parts of the state have delivered long lines, packed parking lots and, in the case of the Hard Rock Sacramento at Fire Mountain Casino in Yuba County, traffic jams.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain reopens Thursday with some big changes to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
The casino has been closed for more than two months after stay-at-home orders were issued statewide.
During this time, casino officials said they have been working with Yuba County and Hard Rock destinations around the world to come up with a plan that would allow them to reopen and keep everyone safe.
'It's a very large undertaking and we have invested a lot of time and financial resources to make sure this building is what we need it to be when we do reopen the doors,' said Mike Birtha, president of Hard Rock International.
The company has come up with a 38-page health and safety protocol that was developed with input from Yuba County health officials and Hard Rock properties around the world.

Guests visiting the casino will notice some changes the moment they walk through the front door.
Everyone entering the building will pass by a thermal imaging camera that will allow the security staff to tell if a guest has a fever.
If an elevated body temperature is detected, that guest will be asked to visit another time.
Floor markings have been placed around the building to help people maintain social distancing.
Every other slot machine has been turned off and the number of chairs at card tables has been reduced.
'We have every other slot machine turned off. We have limited occupancy at all of our table games as well as reduced seating in our restaurants to make sure we have the appropriate occupancy and to make sure we have people in an environment that is safe and well spaced out,' said Birtha.
All guests will be required to wear a mask in the building, except while eating.
All employees will be required to wear masks and gloves, including card dealers.
A specially trained group called the 'Clean Team' will be rotating through the building sanitizing high-touch points on an hourly basis.
'Nothing is more important than the safety of our guests and our employees and the overall community. We would not take that for granted, so putting these programs in place is something that was absolutely paramount before we were able to reopen the doors,' said Birtha.

WHEATLAND (CBS13) — The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain says they plan on reopening on Thursday.
The casino, which had only just opened its doors late last year, has been closed since March 20 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Tuesday, the casino announced their plans to reopen on May 21. The move comes after Yuba and Sutter counties eased their restrictions after being approved by the state to push further into phase 2 of reopening.
Despite the easing of restrictions, Gov. Gavin Newsom had reportedly urged tribes to reconsider opening casinos this early. Casinos were named as one of the businesses as part of the third phase of reopening, which the state has not moved into at this point. Casino winning tax form.
Several new preventative measures are being implemented at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento to try and stop the spread of coronavirus. The new measures include all guests and employees being required to wear face masks, temperatures will be checked at all entrances, and plastic shields being put up at service windows. Occupancy levels are also being reduced all around the building.

The casino says their protocols have been reviewed by the Yuba-Sutter health officer.
